Library Usage Guidelines
Students and staff of the University, lecturers and students at other universities and all external researchers can benefit from library services within the framework of the following rules.
(1) Library materials cannot be taken out without permission, and legal action will be taken against those who attempt to take library materials out without permission.
(2) University students and staff can borrow books from the library.
(3) As a requirement of inter-university co-operation, the library is open to the use of teaching staff and students of other universities. However, it is possible for these staff members to borrow materials through the library of their own universities.
(4) Those who want to borrow materials from the library must have a record in the library.
(5) Academic staff can borrow 3 books for a period of 2 months. Students and administrative staff can borrow 2 books for 15 days. The loan period can be extended 2 times provided that the book is shown to the library and not requested by another user. When necessary, the Department may redetermine the lending periods and the number of materials that can be lent. In addition, it can make special applications on these issues according to the demands.
(6) The following books are not available for loans.
- Encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases, etc. reference sources
- Periodicals,
- Unpublished theses,
- Manuscripts and rare printed works,
- Maps and slides and musical scores,
- Materials identified by the instructors and requested not to be lent.
(7) Students are required to obtain a dismissal certificate from the library when they graduate or when their enrolment is cancelled. Students who owe money to the library are not given a dismissal certificate.
(8) Staff who leave the university due to retirement, transfer or resignation, or who move away from the university temporarily must return the books they have borrowed and obtain a certificate of dismissal from the library. Staff who are indebted to the library are not given a dismissal certificate.
(9) If the borrowed materials are not returned after the lending period has expired, no further materials will be lent to the user.
